​Guide Dogs for the Blind
Program Description: 
Join us for this marketing program with Tom Horton who has managed Guide Dog for the Blind ‘s planned giving program for over 25 years. He’ll share marketing strategies and insights that have helped scale Guide Dog for the Blind’s planned giving program from a smaller program to a larger one. 

Presentation will include a discussion of key foundational marketing strategies that most successful planned giving programs employ, large and small. Using Guide Dogs as a case study, the presentation will also include an analysis of Guide Dog’s most successful marketing campaigns/strategies and its least successful ones and will also include a discussion of campaigns/strategies that GDB may still employ.   
 

About the Presenters:

Tom Horton is International Director of Planned Giving at Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc., the largest guide dog training program in North America, with clients throughout the US and Canada. He is a former board member of the Northern California Planned Giving Council and past president of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council. Tom attended Boston College for his undergraduate degree and Boston College and University of Utah for his law degree and is a member of the California, Massachusetts and Washington Bar associations. He has taught “Philanthropy as a Wealth Management Tool” in the UC Berkeley Extension.
